What are the Benefits?
Back pain is the most commonly treated condition in Chiropractic, and is the focus of most of the studies on its effectiveness. With this condition, it is considered comparable in effectiveness, if not more effective, than conventional medical treatments. Other conditions often treated include:
- Neck and shoulder pain
- Arthritis
- Sports injuries
- Repetitive strain disorders
- Headache/migraines
- Asthma
- Colic
- Fibromyalgia
- Scoliosis
In treating conditions such as arthritis, although Chiropractors cannot affect the disease or its progression, they can often treat secondary symptoms such as pain from associated muscle spasm.
Chiropractic is also used for post-surgical conditions after disc fusions. When the effectiveness of fusions begin to wear off, hyper mobility compensations, arthritis, and other conditions can be triggered.
