Chromatherapy

What Can I Expect During a Treatment?

Usually the client remains fully clothed, unless the treatment involves hydrotherapy (treatment in water) or is being combined with massage therapy).  The treatment may be offered at a medical spa, private office, or healing center.  The treatment takes place on a massage bed or similar furntiure in and atmosphere of relaxation and calmness.

If the client has specific issues, such as an injury, illness, pain, or anxiety, these are first discussed.

The concept of chromatherapy is based on the concept that the systems and organs within our body resonate to specific colors and respond in a predictable manner when exposed to these colors. Preferences and aversions to certain colors may be discussed which will also assist the practitioner in diagnosing any imbalances in a particular area of the body.

Color is an integral part of our lives, used in the clothes we wear, the furnishings we surround ourselves with and our general experience of everyday life. Colors affect us physically, psychologically and emotionally. Some colors give us a sense of peace and calm, some cause us to feel revitalized, and others can cause us to feel depressed. Chromatherapists may also require clients to take the Luscher Color Diagnostic test.

Depending on the Chromatherapist, there are various methods which may be used both by the therapist and also recommended for self application. Psychics such as clairvoyantsIndividuals (often called psychics) who perceive people, situations and locations beyond the range of the 5 physical senses, and who can perceive events which have not yet occurred and tarot readersA tarot reader uses a deck of 78 "tarot cards," similar in size to playing cards, but which usually feature pictures and symbols. They are used to divine the future or explore aspects of the self may also incorporate skills such as Chromatherapy, with the client selecting various colors.  These colors assist the therapist/reader in determining the emotional, spiritual and physical state of the client.
