How Will I Feel After a Treatment?
A detoxification process usually occurs after receiving a treatment, including more effective elimination, improved sleep patterns, and tension reduction. Such changes indicate that the body is responding and adjusting to the treatment.
Following a Reflexology treatment, some clients may notice a quick relief or reduction from their current symptoms. Others may require a course of treatments before an improvement is experienced, which is often the case with chronic and persistant conditions.
Many clients communicate a sense of well-being and relaxation, however some clients report feeling emotional, lethargic, nauseous, and may experience headaches and dizziness. This is considered transitory and is a part of the releasing and healing process as toxins are released from the body.
The most common responses reported by clients appear to be a deep sense of relaxation, often accompanied by temporary light headedness. Tenderness of the feet may also be experienced. In general, after one or more Reflexology treatments, the following health benefits may be experienced:
| • | Improved sleep patterns due to a more relaxed body |
| • | Improved skin tone and texture due to improved circulation |
| • | Stimulation of lymph nodes, kidneys and colon reflexes resulting in more effective elimination of toxins (from pollutants, stress, poor diet, etc.) and an increase of oxygen flow to the cells within the body |
| • | Reduction in physical and emotional tensions, considered by many alternative healing systems to be the underlying causes of all physical imbalances |
It is very important to provide feedback on the results of each session to the Reflexologist, who can then determine how well you are responding to the treatment and how to tailor the next treatment to the needs of your body.
