Reiki

What Are the Benefits of Reiki?

Whole-body Reiki is used to treat the entire body to achieve revitalization and facilitate in the clearing of congested energy channels. It can also be used to strengthen the immune system and trigger the dispersal and release of toxins.

Reiki therapy is also useful when recovering from surgery, chemotherapy, or an illness by strengthening the immune system and providing additional energy need for healing. It often assists as a supplementary therapy in reinforcing the effects of other medical and natural healing methods. Reiki may also be a useful adjunct for anyone taking a course of drugs in helping to reduce some of the side effects of drug therapy.

Reiki has been known to be effective in treating a variety of physical to psychological illnesses ranging from stress, anxiety, skin problems, gall or kidney stones, broken bones, headaches, insomnia, etc. to more serious problems such as multiple sclerosis, heart disease, and cancer.

Because Reiki is so gentle it is safe for the elderly, pregnant women, children and animals.

Reiki & Children
Giving Reiki treatment to a child feels very different from giving Reiki to an adult adult. Children are more attuned to the physical body and energy will flow through the entire body in one sweep. Children are, however, not the easiest clients to work on. Their attention span is short and the treatment is often considered boring and unexciting. After a few minutes, may children become fidgety, unable to relax and be passive. With practice, a practitioner will often be able to adjust how the treatment is performed to permit the child to move and talk.

Being much more sensitive to energy and surroundings than adults, many children are naturally able to use Reiki. As Reiki is also a tool of empowerment, children who use Reiki or who have had Reiki treatments are often more confident, are able to focus, and experience less stress in general (including exam stress).

Is Reiki Safe During Pregnancy
Couples who are experiencing problems conceiving sometimes seek Reiki treatments to resolve any reproductive problems.

Reiki is used during the first stages of pregnancy for morning sickness and to relieve stress. During pregnancy, tests conducted at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut showed that Reiki used during pregnancy reduced anxiety by 94 percent, nausea by 80 percent, pain by 78 percent, and improved sleep by 86 percent.

Reiki used during labor has been shown to significantly lessen pain. Mothers who have had previous c-sections who receive Reiki during their pregnancy have reported a reduction in the need for cesarean surgery.

As far as post-partum treatment, Reiki is shown to reduce the emotional issues experienced during this time of adjustment. Mothers have reported that while undergoing Reiki during the last trimester of pregnancy, their babies tend to have less sleep issues and an absence of colic.

For mothers who are Reiki practitioners, channeling this energy into both an unborn and newborn baby can not only provide healing, but also help to create the feeling of a strengthened bond between mother and baby.
