How Will I Feel After a Treatment?
When each Reiki therapy session is complete, the whole body may feel very energized. Some clients feel very relaxed to the point of grogginess. In cases of chronic pain, a significant reduction or even total elimination in pain may be experienced.
Depending on the effects of the healing, some clients may experience a drastic purging of the system as toxins are released, causing stomach upsets, the need to eliminate, or skin breakouts. This is temporary and is caused by the cleansing proccess being triggered and the energy shifting and rebalancing within the body. Uncomfortable side effects can be alleviated to some degree by drinking plenty of water, which will assist in flushing toxins from the body. These side effects are usually temporary and will fade within several days.
Other side effects may include:
• Crying
• Diarrhea, and an increase in the need to eliminate
• Extreme tiredness
• Skin breakouts
• Tingling, heat and cold sensations
After a Reiki session, do not engage in any vigorous activity, but rather relax and be gentle with yourself. The energy within the body is rebalancing and should be given the appropriate time to readjust. It is also important to avoid stimulants such as drinks containing caffeine or alcohol.
