How Will I Feel After a Treatment?
After undergoing an Energy Psychology session, the correcting of the energy imbalance can often lead to profound changes which can occur during or shortly after the treatment.
Common statements include:
"It's difficult for me to focus on the problem any more"
"The problem seems distant to me now"
"I care about it less now"
"I feel calmer and less afraid"
"I don't feel the same about it any more"
"I see possibilities I didn't see before"
"I can think more clearly and less emotionally"
"I feel more courageous about taking action"
Some report extreme tiredness after a session, and others report feeling energized and full of life.
Depending on the level of distress, treatment results for some problems can be rapid. With others that are more complex, it can take more time with success achieved in small steps. For emotional distress or trauma related to a past event, or phobias (e.g. fear of heights or insects), results typically occur quite quickly. For distress and trauma which is chronic or ongoing, more sessions and "homework" on the part of the patient may be required to prevent the energy blockages from continually recurring.
Undergoing an Energy Psychology session can also be a liberating experience from the perspective of being able to "talk to someone" about what is causing the emotional distress. Often, people internalize emotional problems and trauma and choose not to share them with family or friends due to feelings such as shame or guilt. Seeing any mental healthcare specialist can feel like a tremendous weight has been taken off your shoulders simply by talking about the distress and realizing how many others are experiencing similar issues.
After an Energy Psychology session, as with all energy therapies, it is important to relax and be gentle with yourself to allow the body to adjust to the stimulation of energy flow. As toxins may be purged from the body, conditions such as diarrhea and skin breakouts may occur. This is temporary and will subside within a few days. Drink plenty of fresh water and ensure you are fully hydrated to assist with flushing away these toxins.
