Home-Baked Doggy Treats

Home-baked cookies

With so many recalls when it comes to popular pet food, cookies, and jerky treats, why take the risk?  Home-made treats are so easy to make, they are fresher, healthier, and are much cheaper than their store-bought counterparts.  Not only that, but you will have the peace of mind knowing that they contain no highly processed and unsafe chemicals that are so common in store bought treats today.

Here are two of my favorite recipes that are a big winner with our pup and her neighborhood friends she shares them with  ^..^

Nibblicious Crunchies

Ingredient List
  1. Cookie cuttersPreheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Whisk eggs and add pumpkin and peanut butter until thoroughly combined.
  3. Stir in oats and cinnamon.
  4. Empty mixture onto a floured surface and roll it out to 1/2 inch thickness.  Use a cookie cutter to create the cookie shapes.  As the cookies will be sticky, use flour as necessary to stop them from sticking to your hand, the rolling pin, and the surface!
  5. Bake for 30-35 mins until a golden brown.
  6. Place on rack and let cool completely.  These cookies will become firm as they cool.

Lickety Loaf

Ingredient List
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Beat the eggs in a bowl and add the meat and oil.  Thoroughly mix in all of the other ingredients until they are completely combined.  Add enough water to create the consistency of a "batter."
  3. Pour mixture into a loaf tin and bake at 350°F for 50 minutes.
  4. Allow the tin to cool, then gently turn the loaf out onto a rack to continue cooling.
  5. Slice with a sharp knife, cut into cubes, and store in the fridge in a sealed container.
